Drone Show_La Mercè_2024

The show will be held on October 10 at 9pm on Bogatell Beach and will feature the sea, the wind and sailing as its main protagonists. It will be broadcast on La2, TV3, betevé and internationally.

The ceremony will feature the notable participation of the Castelleros de Vilafranca, the Orquesta y Corazón del Liceo, the Escolanía de Montserrat, and the musicians Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Sara Blanch, Arnau Tordera and Marina Herlop

The city of Barcelona will once again attract all attention with the celebration of “Barcelona, Far to the world”, the show that will kick off the final of Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup, the 'Match' between the Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand, and the winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup. On October 10th, starting at 9:00 p.m., Bogatell Beach will host a spectacle full of light, music and color, with the sea, the wind and the sail as the main protagonists.
Aligned with the values and passion of the Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup, the ceremony will highlight the power of sport, fused with art and culture, as agents of change and the capacity to engage. This show will mark the crescendo of the Louis*Vuitton 37th America's Cup, which is being held for the first time in Barcelona, and is a Legacy project of the host institutions (coordinated through the Barcelona Capital Náutica Foundation) and the America's Cup supported by America's Cup Events.

Broadcast globally to an international audience on La2, TV3 and Betevé, a spectacle unlike any seen in the city for years has been planned, with visual effects including drones, LED screens, avatars and seas of light, all combined with beautiful soundtracks, musical performances and immersive symphonies, designed to take the viewer on an emotional journey that will captivate audiences around the world. Barcelona, a city known for innovation and culture, is the perfect setting for this event, which fuses technology, art and nature. The ceremony, inspired by the sea, wind and sail, symbolises human ingenuity and collective effort, creating a narrative that promises to reconnect the public with the power of nature and the magic of maritime exploration.

This was explained on Thursday by the institutional and artistic leaders of the ceremony, at the official presentation event which was attended by Miquel Sàmper, Minister of Business and Employment of the Generalitat of Catalonia; Jordi Valls, Fourth Deputy Mayor of the Department of Economy, Finance, Economic Promotion and Tourism of the Barcelona City Council; Leslie Ryan, Event Director of America's Cup Event Barcelona; Joan Còdol, General Manager of Foco; Albert Guinovart, composer and director of the soundtrack of the ceremony; and Hansel Cereza, director and creator of the scene.

Through three essential elements: the sea, the wind and the sail, and highlighting the value of ingenuity and teamwork, it is evident how humanity, through navigation, has established connections between cultures, providing keys to understanding the present with a view to the future. Light unites these three concepts and is the communication channel that transmits the message of Barcelona and Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup to the world.

After a long period of public competition, of a creative and production nature, the contract was finally awarded to the UTE called “BARCELONA, FAR AL MÓN”, the name of the project and show presented by the UTE formed by the companies FOCOS SA (with extensive and recognised experience in the production and staging of cultural content), LAVÍNIA (a recognised business structure in the television services sector), IGOR STUDIO (a recognised and award-winning creative studio in the field of audiovisual and immersive projects) and FLOCK DRONE ARTE (a Catalan company with international projection, a leader in drone shows and technological art).
