«Barcelona, Far al Món»: a before and after of the show

For the first time in its century-old history, the prestigious America's Cup Sailing The event was attended by an opening ceremony that brought together more than 60,000 people on Bogatell Beach. Barcelona, a pioneer in organising an event of such magnitude, kicked off the 37th edition of the competition: the Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup.
Barcelona has once again dazzled the world, offering an unforgettable spectacle. For 40 minutes, the sea, the wind and the sail – symbols of human ingenuity and collective effort – starred in a night full of music, light and colour. The event, in which more than 800 people participated, was the result of more than a year of joint work between the Barcelona Nautical Capital Foundation, the organization of the regatta and an exceptional artistic team.
Directed and produced by Catalan talent
The ceremony was directed and produced by the joint venture 'BARCELONA, FAR EN EL MUNDO', made up of Focus SA, Lavinia, Igor Studio and Flock Drone Art. Each of these companies contributed their experience in cultural creation, television services and technological shows.
More than 800 people were involved in the creation: from the creative idea of Igor Cortadellas, the stage direction of Hanzel Cherry, the music of Albert Guinovart, even the choreographies of Barbarana Pons. The soprano stood out among the performances Sara Blanch, the tenor Arnau Tordera and the Human towers of Vilafranca, symbolizing collaboration and teamwork.
Barcelona, a beacon in the world
The show, structured in 13 scenes, narrated the connection between cultures and the role of the sea in our history. The protagonists were the sea, the wind and the sail, highlighting the value of teamwork and ingenuity. A lighthouse-shaped structure served as the main symbol of the event, while a thousand drones lit up the sky of Barcelona, visually uniting the Glòries Lookout Tower and the Holy Family.
Finally, the evening reached its climax with the performance of the soundtrack "Barcelona, beacon in the world", composed by Albert Guinovart and performed by top local talent.
