Coinciding with the traditional San Ramón festivities in Ferrol, Flock Drone Art illuminated the sky of Ferrol (Galicia) for the first time with a spectacular ECO100.
On the last Saturday of August, coinciding with the end of the Ferrol festivities and as a grand finale, the ECO100 show was held Flock Drone ArtFor the residents of Ferrol and Galicia in general, it was a novel experience with a touch of uncertainty, since they did not know exactly what that experience would be like. It is true that the introduction of drones as a "replacement" or "generational change" of traditional fireworks has its friends and enemies in equal parts.
Ferrol's attitude was what made Flock win over the public from the very first minute.. Thus, in the final part of the session, which lasted about 15 minutes, the figure of a hooded man from Ferrol could be seen first, identified as the Capuchoncito's luminous "brother", the statue on Calle Real. Afterwards, a Stork crane appeared to remind us of the skyline of the city and finally they wished us a «Happy Ferrol», an expression that has been popularized by Mayor José Manuel Rey Varela.
Drones sketching the skies of many towns and cities around are increasingly a reality that is here to stay. And Galicia is not going to be any different. And the fact that the sketches and creative works that can be seen in the 10-15 minutes of the show makes the immersive experience that is lived is at least very novel and impressive.
On Saturday, August 31st, at midnight, the show began. It was open and free and could be experienced from the Curuxeiras Pier, an incredible postcard to end these festivities in style. Although on the day of the show there was a bit of controversy over visibility, for Flock Drone Art it was a great success both technically and creatively.
Below we leave you a report of the Ferrol Newspaper which talks about the last day of the Ferrol festivities and in which Flock Drone Art did the closing show.
